Short: Demo anim of new program for OpalPaint: by Carmen Rizzolo Architecture: generic This is a preview of a new software package called "Part And Particle" It is a 2-dimensional particle system for OpalPaint v2.3 or higher (If you do not have OpalPaint v2.3, it is available on your favorite BBS or on AmiNet). Some of Part And Particle's features: Friendly, easy to use interface, making full use of OpalPaint v2.3's new programmable requestors. Gravity that can pull down, up, to the center of the screen or away from the center of the screen. Wind that can blow left, right or whirl around the center of the screen clockwise or counter-clockwise Lens-Flare emulation The user can create his/her own particles as easily as creating a brush or series of brushes in OpalPaint or other Amiga Paint programs. Cast shadows, Motion blur, and Bounce off screen border options Layer "modules" of different elements in a single project, as many as you like. The animation in this archive was created in one pass. Add as many particles as you want, up to 200 new particles per frame per module. Or, add as little as you want, 1 new particle every few frames. Particles that eminate from a side of the screen, like rain or snow from the top, blowing leaves from the side, or soda fizz from below. Control gravity, wind and throw strength. Add your particle and/or lens-flare effects to existing animations. About the animations: The original animation was created in Brilliance, letters that "draw" out the words "This is a test" The rest was added to by Part And Particle in one sweep. To keep this archive short, only a segment of the animation was used. The original animations were output as a series of 24-bit IFF frames and then converted down to 32-colours. PAP-Demo1.Anim - Demonstrates the motion blur setting. Also used intense whirlwind and gravity resulting in chaotic particle motion. The sceen borders were set to bounce, so the particles never escaped the screen. This, of course, adds to the chaos. Lens-Flare was also enabled, but because of the wild particles and the loss of fidelity in the 24-bit to 32-colour conversion, it's very hard to see. PAP-Demo2.Anim - No Lens Flare in this one.. Just a headpiece module and Particles-eminating-from-point module. The whirlwind and gravity is much less intense and it results in a more fluid feel to the motion. Borders are also bouncy, so that does scatter things up a bit. For more information: Part And Particle is not yet ready, but it will be soon.
