Short: Horace/Granny Animation by Dale Hemmenway Author: dale@active2.demon.co.uk (Dale Hemmenway) Uploader: chris active2 demon co uk (Chris Wiles) Type: pix/anim Architecture: generic Hello all Amiga enthusiasts, I hope you like the short animation. Sorry it's in a small window but I found that the full screen version had trouble running at speed on unaccelerated machines. The animation shows Horace and his wife, Granny Bodkin, walking through a prehistoric setting. This scene is from an 8 minute pilot episode for a proposed children's animated series called 'Horace & The Magic Motorcycle' made several years ago by Kevan Goode and myself on 16mm film. Unfortunately, we had to refuse a contract to complete the series as we felt we were being, well, ripped off basically! As I have been working on other things I haven't promoted 'Horace' as much as I should have. If there are any Amigans out there with money to put into a series then PLEASE GET IN TOUCH ! Anyway, back to the animation - my main reason for producing this short effort was to see if I could recreate a scene from the film, which was obviously done in the traditional way with cels, using the Amiga. The original animation drawings were scanned into the Amiga and painted in Brilliance. The panning background was created in DPaintV and merged with the animation of the walking characters. If we were to complete the series now it would probably be created entirely on the Amiga. By the way,the animation is freely distributable as long as this text is included with it but the characters and title 'Horace & The Magic Motorcycle' are, ofcourse, copyright. Keep on animating. All the best, Dale Hemenway. Dalemation 18 Sneyd Hall Road, Bloxwich, Walsall, West Midlands. WS3 2NP ENGLAND Tel. (01922) 479656
