Short: Anim of earth from Stargate SG-1 320x300x8x30 Author: Amiga@TheWorld.net (Alex Carmona) Uploader: AmigaOne TheWorld net (Alex Carmona) Type: pix/anim Replaces: pix/anim/3GlobesSmall.lha Architecture: generic Date: 07-Oct-2001Short: Anim of earth from Stargate SG-1 320x300x8x30 Date: 07-Oct-2001 Description ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Animation of 3 rotating globes connected to each other, allowing to view all sides of the earth at the same time. A larger version (8MB) is available, in pix/anim/3Globes.lha (640x480 60 frames) for amigas with enough RAM and matching video mode. Usage ¯¯¯¯¯ o Extract the archive to your HD or RAM disk (1MB) o Workbench: Double-click on the anim (the icon default tool is set to player) o Shell: Type Player pf sm lp=0 sl FILE 3Globes.anim o Press the left arrow to slow it down to 1FPS, space to stop, Amiga-Q to quit, right-click for the menu. Notes ¯¯¯¯¯ o You can use higher FPS values up to 60 but might not look too realistic. o Playing it with multiview doesn't work well on my Picasso board. Perhaps a problem with the picture or anim datatype. The Story ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ As I was watching the TV series Stargate SG-1 (with the actor from McGyver), I noticed a display in the background of the briefing room, with three very similar globes spinning around. I thought that it looked really cool so I started looking all over the net for an MPEG or screen-saver of that anim but couldn't find any. Eventually I decided to make my own. At one frame per second, it does look pretty cool on a plat panel display. Production ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ This was modeled and rendered in 30 minutes using Imagine on an Amiga 4000 with 68060-50MHz. Copyrights ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ o The DeluxePlayer 1.0 is ©1994 Electronic Arts and included with their permission. o The anim is placed in the public domain by myself, the author. Thanks ¯¯¯¯¯¯ BIG Thanks to all the people who share their art and software on Aminet, you rock! Urban Müller for keeping Aminet going all these years, Gary, Fleecy and those I missed for resurrecting the Amiga! Keep up the good work!
