Short: Fun little artificial inteligence toy. Author: spudley@mr-potatohead.com (Simon Champion) Uploader: spudley mr-potatohead com (Simon Champion) Type: misc/misc Architecture: m68k-amigaos Nicolas - Non-Inteligent COmputerised LAnguage System (Ok. So it's a dodgy acronym :-) This little program is an experiment with Artificial Inteligence. Actually, it's about as inteligent as a packet of liquorice alsorts, but don't let that put you off. It's still great fun to play around with for a while. It's concept is to learn the links between words, and use those to output a meaningful sentence. So, if you wrote "I like cats", it would remember that cats can be liked, and sometime in the future it would output a sentence about someone liking cats. Maybe. There's a small built in dictionary to get you started, and I've been kind enough to also include a *slightly* bigger saved dictionary in the archive. If you don't like my choice of vocabulary, simply enter your own. :-) Bottom line: This program is for *FUN*... so enjoy it!!!!!! Changes (since last Aminet upload - 1.32/08-Aug-98): 1.33: 08-August-1998. (again) (Registered users release) Added #log command, and log file generation. You can now keep a record of your conversations with HAL, without having to print them. ;-) 1.34: 29-September-1998. (released only on my web site) A few smallish bug-fixes. Started prototyping a new 'save preferences' feature. 1.40: 11-October-1998. (not released) Added ability for prefs to be stored in tooltypes. Now you don't have to re-set all your settings every time. And it's easy to use, too. ;-) That's a big enough change for me to bump the version up to 1.40. :-) Added chapter in this document for the prefs. 1.41: 18-October-1998. (Registered users release) More work to the prefs. 1.42: 20-October-1998. (Aminet release) Added a new command #PALETTE & the coresponding tooltype, after many hints from a certain registered user who didn't like the colour-scheme . See the appropriate parts of this guide for more info. No more changes. 20-October-1998. --> spudley@mr-potatohead.com --> http://village.vossnet.co.uk/c/champion/ (but this is web address probably going to change soon)
