Short: Turn off auto retension on tape drives Author: dwl10@juts.ccc.amdahl.com (Dave Lowrey) Uploader: dwl10 juts ccc amdahl com (Dave Lowrey) Type: driver/media Architecture: m68k-amigaos Most of the Tandberg TDC3600 SCSI tape drives are configured to automatically retension the tape every time a tape is inserted into the drive, or when the system is reset or powered on. TandbergConf provides the ability to reconfigure the drive so it will automatically position the tape at the load point (beginning of the tape) when the tape is inserted or the system is reset or powered on. This configuration can be temporary (won't survive a reboot), or permanant. Type TandbergConf without any parameters for usage instructions. The specs on how to program the Tandberg drive came from Goncal Badenes (badenes@imec.com), and are included in this archive. The code is a very small subset of the execllent program SCSIutil, written by Gary Duncan (gduncan@philips.oz.au), and updated for CD-ROM by Heiko Rath (hr@brewhr.swb.de). The code is used by permission of the author. This code is freely distributable for non-commercial purposes. Version 1.0 Written by David Lowrey (dwl10@juts.ccc.amdahl.com) Requires AmigaDOS 2.0 or higher.
