Short: Lyra 3 Keyboard Adapter Utility Author: thorfdbg@alumni.tu-berlin.de (Thomas Richter) Uploader: thorfdbg alumni tu-berlin de (Thomas Richter) Type: driver/input Version: 1.01 Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Release 1.01 ------------ Added additional (reserved) Amiga scancodes initially defined in Os 4 and now in Os 3.2. Most of these new scan codes cannot be generated by native Amiga hardware, some of the scan codes stem from the CD32, and some are used by third-party hardware, for example the mouse wheel codes. The 1.01 release is now able to generate the corresponding scan codes and bind them to suitable PS/2 keys. This allows emulating a CD32 keypad on a standard PC keyboard, for example. Most of these additional scan codes are probably not handled by most Amiga programs, but they have been added for completeness. Release 1.00 ------------ The first Aminet release. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...with special thanks for the hardware to Jens Schönfeld What is this: Lyra3Tool is a small shell program that is used to re-program the Lyra 3 PS/2 to Amiga keyboard adapter. Lyra 3 is sold by Individual Computers, Jens Schönfeld, and allows you to use a regular PS/2 (not USB!) keyboard with your Amiga. Lyra 3 the latest and greatest version of this keyboard adapter. It's new feature is that its keyboard mapping - from PS/2 to Amiga - is programmable in software. And Lyra3Tool is the official tool for this. Lyra3Tool can be used both from the Shell and the Workbench, even though its primary purpose is to be run from Shell with a keyboard remapping file as argument. There is currently no GUI (graphical user interface) to setup a keyboard remapping, but the mapping files are quite straight-foreward to setup with an editor of your choice, it is just a series of = equations where the left hand side is the PS/2 (PC) key and the right hand side is the Amiga key to assign it to. An example is included, and an extensive guide explains you how all the logic works. A guide (as said) and an installer is included. Please install by the installer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thomas Richter, April 2022
